MichaelBioPic

Michael Gentiluomo is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting both adolescents and adults with co-occurring disorders. A founding staff member at the Arrow House, Michael has been with the program since day one, helping to shape its mission and deeply impacting the lives of the teens we serve.

With a strong foundation in neuroscience-based addiction treatment and a background in outreach and social work, Michael brings both clinical insight and deep empathy to his role. His passion lies in psychoeducation, mentorship, and guiding teens toward self-discovery and healing. A skilled group facilitator and teacher, Michael helps adolescents understand addiction as a brain-based illness, empowering them to move from shame to self-worth.

Michael’s work is also profoundly shaped by his personal journey through recovery, fatherhood, and two decades as a high school varsity coach. Michael draws on his own story of overcoming trauma and addiction to build authentic, motivating connections with our teens, meeting them where they are and showing them what’s possible. He believes in the power of consistency, strong values, and connection. Whether he's coaching on the field, teaching coping skills, or leading therapy groups, Micheal’s goal is to help young people realize that they are far more resilient and worthy than they often believe.

His advice for recovering families is to choose to go toward the fear. Lean into it with humility, forgiveness, courage, prayer, and hard work. These will become your greatest tools. Healing doesn’t come from avoiding pain—it comes from walking through it, together.
